Adult Education Coordinator
The part-time Adult Education Coordinator is responsible for Canopy’s adult education programming efforts, ensuring that these programs achieve Canopy’s goals to increase public knowledge about the benefits of trees, to offer opportunities to enjoy trees and nature, to build skills and capacity of residents to plant and steward trees in their community, and to empower people to act in support of the long-term health and growth of the urban forest.
Responsibilities include leading Canopy’s 9-week Community Forestry School program, planning workshops and webinars, coordinating the Tree Walk program and other adult education events, as well as developing new programs and events to support Canopy’s Trees Programs and Advocacy Program goals.
Communications and Marketing Coordinator
Canopy is looking for a creative communications professional committed to using the power of stories to create long lasting support for Canopy and its mission. The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for Canopy’s brand reputation, gifted in both visual and written communications in order to expand our impact. The successful candidate will be comfortable in a variety of strategies, including digital, traditional, earned and visual communications.
Environmental Educator
Under the direction of Canopy’s Education Director, the Environmental Educator will be responsible for implementing Canopy’s PreK-12 tree curriculum in collaboration with schools and community-based partners in East Palo Alto, Mountain View, Belle Haven (Menlo Park), and Palo Alto, with upcoming teaching opportunities in North Fair Oaks. In addition, the Environmental Educator plays an integral role in shaping new curriculum and resources, as well as supporting Canopy’s education programming at public events.
