Our Work

Our Programs make a difference.

Since our founding in 2009, United Latinos has worked tirelessly to advance health and equity issues. Our goal is to transform our communities through advocacy, education, & civic engagement.

Our programs focus on advocating for under-funded communities, fighting for environmental justice, and uplifting Latino voices in health, education, and public policy.

Programs

Sacramento Investment Without Displacement Coalition

United Latinos is a proud member of the Sacramento Investment Without Displacement Coalition. As a part of SIWD, we’ve won millions of dollars in funding for affordable housing, local jobs, and infrastructure like bike lanes, sidewalks, and public transit.

Green Team

United Latinos’ Green Team is working tirelessly to provide equity-focused environmental justice initiatives in Sacramento. Our goal is to increase environmental equity in disadvantaged areas through several key programs: tree planting, air quality monitoring, air filter distribution, education, and outreach.

Juntos Afuera

Through the Juntos Afuera Program, United Latinos provides opportunities for the community to participate in outings & excursions, experience nature, and become better stewards of our environment.

These trips are completely free, and made possible by funding from the Outdoor Equity Grants Program.

Nicholas Elementary School SCUSD Partnership

United Latinos has partnered with SCUSD to connect families to resources as Nicholas Elementary School undergoes a full renovation. With a 44% latino population, United Latinos is in a position to reach families of students and provide them with critical information.
